Inkayacu paracasensis

I really shouldn't be doing this now. I've got lots of urgent things to do this weekend... At least it was a pretty quick drawing. It's nice to do stuff like this once in a while, without having to worry about detailing stuff too much.

Inkayacu paracasensis

This drawing was inspired by a piece of news my friend Karin sent to me. A fossil of a 1,5m (5 feet) tall penguin was found, and was named Pedro. It is 36 million years old, and scientists believe it had brown and grey feathers. I kind of felt identified with it, since I have no fashion sense and nowadays I've been thinking a lot about whether to apply or not for a job for which I'd have to wear a suit everyday >_<

For that reason, I felt like drawing some of the "normal" penguins wearing neckties instead of bow ties, even though they say penguins are always wearing tuxedos and not suits.

All penguins are drawn to scale. From left to right:

Chinstrap penguin
Emperor penguin + its baby
Adélie penguin
Gentoo penguin
Fairy/Blue penguin
Inkayacu (extinct)
Magellanic penguin
White-flippered penguin.

There's a small Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei reference in the drawing but it's just a stupid in-joke
